One more project to love and cherish, courtesy of the sweet Haniela. For once this one was for us. I did not donate it. It is sitting on a little table, welcoming whoever enters our home. I made it with construction gingerbread, so it’s not edible. The smell is amazing, though. A wonderful cookie adventure…

So many details in this project, take a look at all the different sides of “the property” ….

Undoubtedly, a labor of love. I spread the preparation over three days, making all the panels first…

Perhaps the trickiest component of the house was the brick wall around the fireplace…

Soon everything was ready to assemble. I used sugar syrup for the sides of the house, and added the roof later with thick Royal icing.

I hope you enjoyed this project, and consider making a little house soon! All the details as well as the recipe for construction-type gingerbread dough are available at Haniela’s site (click here).

The little snowman seems to be spreading his hands to say ‘Oh, look at all of this!’ Indeed! Am glad you are keeping some of your work . . . Love the roof and like the trees. Am looking at your photos and trying to smell it all across the ocean . . .
