I believe that the candy itself (created in 1880!) is either loved or hated, no in-between feelings. At any rate, the image is definitely associated with Halloween, so today all my cookies dance to its music. And one even carries the real candy for those members of the Love Club.

I will start with my favorite, as demonstrated in a recent live event hosted by the one and only Haniela. You can check out the video here.
CANDY CORN BALLERINA DRESS

This absolutely adorable design starts with making Royal icing transfers as bows the day before. At that time you can add the three colors of the skirt component, and allow it to set overnight. Next day, the cookie comes together quickly, a little stencil spread with thick white icing, a little flooding, and some details.

And why not couple the dress with a very fashionable hat?

Moving on….
THE CANDY CORN CUPCAKE

Very straightforward design. Make the bottom of the cupcake in stages, piping the white and the black stripes. Once that sets, add the other colors allowing adjacent areas to set before piping the next one. I decided to pipe the sprinkles because that gives a pretty neat look. Below, some of the cookies in the prep stage.

THE CANDY CORN JAR

I made this cookie in two different ways, drawing the details with a pen or piping with black icing. I prefer the latter, which is shown in the picture. It is more dramatic, and you can also finish the cookie faster, as using the pen requires it to be totally dry or you will have a disaster on your hands (don’t ask me how I know).
THE CANDY CORN

That is the real thing, a candy corn cookie decorated as such. In this version I used a stencil to add the facial expression, but I also made some drawing with a pen. In the first picture you also see a pumpkin dressed as candy corn, I did not take pictures of the steps to decorate it but it is easy to figure it out, just flooding, letting it set and adding details in contrasting colors.

.
I hope you are busy decorating cookies for Halloween, definitely one of my favorite themes. This year I started earlier, trying to make all the designs I have in mind. Chances of making them all are stupendously low…. Such is life. So many cookies, so little time!
