Stencils are one of the easiest and most effective ways to decorate a cookie. When I am not sure what to do, I will flood a few cookies and let them sit overnight. Then pick a stencil and add Royal icing to it.

White is always a great contrast on a color such as Dusty Rose which I simply adore. And few things are as thrilling as lifting the stencil to reveal the image underneath!

Spraying the image (before lifting the stencil) with Diamond dust or golden dust is optional. You don’t need to do it for every pattern.

So many colors, so many possibilities!

Christmas ornaments are particularly great for decorating with stencils, I hope you give this method a try…
