That special day is here! I wish you a wonderful Christmas Eve, maybe with a White Christmas to make it particularly wonderful. We certainly have our fireplace going on tonight, even if temperatures outside are quite mild for the season. Today I have a special cookie project to share, thanks to an amazing online class by Hartworkcookieco (click here for all the details). I am so glad I took the class, learned quite a bit, and could not be happier with the outcome! What do you think?

The whole set involved 10 cookies, 4 of them super small for the stockings. Many techniques were used, so I cannot say this is a beginner’s project. It is more medium to advanced, but absolutely doable as the instructions and videos are flawless. You get a ton of supporting material, from the cookie recipe to Royal icing and all the details for making the different colors and consistencies needed.

Here is a little slideshow of the set being put together…

You can conceivably cut all the cookies by hand or improvise with cutters you already own, but if you prefer, you can buy all the cutters through their website.

I love the method she used for making the stone wall around the fireplace… It was new to me, and I will definitely be using it in the future. As usual, I do not share details of paid classes, it would be unfair, so I just offer a picture of the almost finished cookie.

The toughest cookie for me was the sitting reindeer. I could have done a better job with the bow, but tweaked it a bit in the end and I guess it had a reasonably happy ending.

This was truly a fantastic cookie adventure, I hope that you visit Harworkcookieco to see other classes they have available, they are worth every penny…

Sally – a very happy and contented Yule for you and your darling husband and the naughty pooches. Glad I clicked on the computer before clicking on the big TV set for our annual 3 hour marathon Christmas carols from Sydney . . . not very Christmassy these days . . . but very good soloists and choirs and much fun in-between . . . Love your beautiful baked Christmas scene even if the bow came up pretty high on someone’s neck . . . it is very chic 🙂 !

Reindeer had a sore throat. Not sure it was Covid or the deer-flu, but he insisted on the high bow…. (he he he)

[…] This set of cutters is simply adorable! Available from amazon (click here). It will work not only for the cookie itself, but also if you like to cut rolled fondant or rolled buttercream to decorate. Very handy for Christmas cookies, as you can see in this post. […]
