We are not quite there yet, but close enough… A few cookies that scream Summer and vacations is what I share today. First, a set of elegant white and gold sea creatures, in a design from Marlyn, of Montreal Confections’ fame. Her art is now focused on pottery and she’s doing great things using clay. The cookie universe will miss her.

The decoration starts with air-brushing with gold portions of the naked cookie. Then a little piping and flooding with white icing. Finally, gold luster and vodka to highlight some of the features.

I really love this set, which is not too complicated to make… Simple, yet elegant.

Next, we move to round cookies and a lot of color. I was inspired by cookies I saw on Pinterest but had no idea they were part of an online class by The Graceful Baker. I made them on my own, modified a few things, but feel she deserves credit. I only realized she was behind the designs after the cookies were made!

I close this set with surfboards, a shape that can be used in so many different designs…

Very simple to decorate, I started by painting the bottom with gold, and then adding marbled blue for the sea and lighter blue for the sky. Sun was made with wet-on-wet yellow. Details piped later, including the little sandals.

I hope you liked this small collection of Summer-inspired cookies…
