Simple lines give these cookies an Oriental aura that is elegant and subtle at the same time. Lines can be very similar to the background or in contrasting colors.

Inspiration for these designs came from a fantastic artist who shares her work on Youtube (click here for her whole collection). A lot of what she does is way out of my skill level, so I chose carefully what to go for… My favorite design is definitely the one below.

I also played with fine lines coupled with additional piping and brushing sections with a super thin icing. The possibilities are of course endless to come up with combinations of colors and patterns.

Inspired by some of her work, I decided to make my own design starting with something I am quite fond of: the Celtic Knot. It is convoluted and beautiful. I started by finding an image online and converted it into a Royal icing transfer.

Having done that the day before, I prepared the cookies by flooding the base and adding a thin layer of icing to a central region.

After that, it was just a matter of glueing the knot in place and adding a few more details!

I love this whole set, and hope you do too…
The path of cookies is always sweet!
