This whole set was designed after working on a recent tutorial by Haniela in her weekly live (Wednesdays at noon, Central Time). She demonstrated how to make a horse’s head, super full of details, and I decided to make a set of horse-inspired cookies. Here they are…

So, it all began with this cool dude here:

To make it, you can watch the live by Haniela clicking here. No need for membership, anyone can learn. But of course, joining her site supports her work! A few of the steps are shown below. The eyes were the tricky component, but I made them large and it was not that hard. I love this design so much!

To complement the horses, I made some frame shapes with stenciled horse”s heads. Simply flooded with very light beige and air-brushed with brown.

I decided that cowboy boots would be a nice addition to this theme, so I cut those by hand, same shape I used a while ago from Marlyn’s tutorial (flash back in this post). But this was a simpler design, just some fine lines and a little confetti sprinkle in gold.

Finally, this cookie cutter I’ve had for a very long time but never used it.
It was about time!

I just loved the way they go together…

This whole set was donated together to a very nice place in our town, called Accord Hospice and Palliative Care. They do amazing work, and I am thrilled to share some of my cookies with them.
