Penguins are so cool! I love the way they walk, and how they survive under incredibly hard circumstances. Today I share two designs that center on this beautiful bird.

Let’s start with Penguins on Ice…

Inspiration for this cookie came from Kathy’s Art Projects for Kids (click here). I have been following her for a long time, and when I saw this recent drawing, I knew I had to “cookie” it.
It all started by making the little guys as Royal icing transfers…

Then, planning their design over the cookie, starting with the little piece of ice for them to stand on. Flood with white, add sparking sugar and move to the next steps…

Use some Royal icing at the region near the bottom to make sure it will glue to the white portion, as that might be slightly set by now.

All that is left it piping the eye, and he is ready!

Moving on….
The second design was made following one of Amber’s tutorials. This is a large cookie (available here), and apart from the piping of the scarf, very simple to decorate. You can conceivably pipe a smooth scarf, glue some snowflakes and call it a day.

The scarf is piped after the body is fully set. I love the way they stand tall and proud!

Let’s give him some love!

Stay tuned for more winter-inspired cookie designs,
as Spring is not yet quite here with us.
