Today I share a group of cookies that Marlyn from Montreal Confections designed years ago. She doesn’t work with cookies anymore, transferred her art to another area: pottery. I wish her all the luck in her new professional career. Since she posted this tutorial back in 2021 I wanted to try it but was too afraid. Finally took a deep breath and gave it a try… Better late than never, my friends!
To say that I am in love with this set is a huge understatement. As Marlyn put it, each cookie is not particularly difficult or tricky to make (although honestly, I think the armchair with all the perspective involved was a bit challenging), but assembled together they turn into a showstopper.
First, all pieces must be baked. I had a few cookie cutters that were appropriate for the project, but most pieces were cut by hand using templates that Marlyn provided in her Patreon site.
Several techniques went into this adventure: air-brushing with and without stencil, wet-on-wet, piping fine lines, piping leaves for the wreath, and drawing details on the snowman.
Little by little the pieces were made and all was pretty much ready for assembling in a small pizza box.
