So smitten by this cookie composition! You do need a special cutter, and I got mine here. It will make a nice set of 15 cookies, most pretty small, with a regular size heart-shaped cookie (about 3.5 inches) in the center. So many color compositions and designs can be made with this set!

The whole composition will measure 8.5 x 8 inches, easy to fit in a little box to offer as a gift, or to place on a small platter to share with friends, co-workers, family members.
First, roll out and cut the cookies…

Then bake them…

I like to add a thin black line to make a more polished look once I flood each one, but this step is definitely optional. You can also do it in white.

I used a single color, Dusty Rose from SugarArt, in different intensities to flood the pieces.

Next day I air-brushed a design on the center heart using Chefmaster Airbrush Gold, and sprayed the whole set with PME luster spray.

I will definitely explore other designs for this set, mixing bright colors and patterns, so stay tuned. And consider getting that cutter to play with, you won’t be disappointed. Just make sure your recipe stays sharp when you bake it. I used this one, which always works well for me.
