I can’t conceive of life without coffee. My first cup of the day is always a cappuccino, made by the husband. The second (and last) is usually a small shot of espresso after lunch (yes, also made by the beloved). Apart from being great to get you going, a cup of java can inspire super cute cookies. I hope you will agree…

DESIGN #1
THE SNOWMAN

This is a design conceived by Marlyn, from @montrealconfections. White and two shades of blue, the dark one in flooding and thick consistency for piping the details, once the whole cookie is flooded and set. The cookie cutter can be found here.

You can leave the cup as it is, or turn it into a snowman by adding just the eyes and nose.

DESIGN #2
THE CLASSIC CUP

A slightly more elaborate shape, as the middle section is expanded to mimic the sleeve (cookie cutter from Ann Clark, available here). Yet another idea by Marlyn, some of the steps to make it are shown below. You can of course change the color composition in many ways.

It is a little labor intensive, but not that bad. The lines don’t need to be ultra thin, and that is definitely helpful…

DESIGN #3
THE SNOWFLAKE

My own design, inspired by versions around IG, it is simple but requires a little bit of fine line piping. That can also be omitted, without harm. I really like the contrasting colors, in this case I chose Americolor Gold and Sugarflair Paprika (one of my favorite colors).

Of course, many color combinations will work with this design, and the center fondant decoration can accommodate other themes: hearts, sunflowers, stars…

All this writing about coffee made me wish for a nice cappuccino, so I better negotiate with the husband, maybe he can make me a third cup for the day…
