LITTLE GINGHAM DRESS

This was an adorable design by Amber, that is also a cookie-flip: you start with a candy corn shape and turn it into a dress. How cool is that?

Below some of the steps to make them…

I did not feel the need to use any template, just eye-balled the shape of the dress, so they did not turn out absolutely identical, but I don’t mind that. Once the white base is fully set, I used Sugarprism to paint thick lines (using a flat brush). Once that dried a bit, the center where the lines meet is darkened with more paint for the proper effect. It seems time-consuming, but it all goes quite fast, Sugarprism slides like a dream on the cookie’s surface. You can also use gel dye diluted with vodka or other solvents. The final detail is just a fondant flower, and a little border bead piping.
