Leave it to Tunde Dugantsi to make adorable platters using cookie cutters you probably already have in your kitchen and just a little bit of patience to make sure they assemble nicely together. I made minor adjustments to turn the platter into something with the colors of Brazil, which as you may have noticed, happens quite often…

So many details in this arrangement, but I will classify it as intermediate, not advanced. I actually think even beginners in cookie decorating will be able to do it following Tunde’s very detailed tutorial. You do need an airbrush, but could conceivably omit that step if you don’t have one. It is used to add the clouds and the shaded edges of the yellow cookies. To join her club, click here.
Some of the steps are shown below…

I made the stencil for the clouds just cutting a piece of paper, and moving it around as I used the air-brush to add blue color. The base cookie was iced in pure white. The green cookies got a little guide with food safe pen to help pipe the petals of the flower later. Once all pieces are done, it is just a matter of assembling them and smiling at the result…

Below, a little close-up of the different components… The little bees were piped on the fully dried cookie, and the central hexagon was made with a stencil. All pretty straightforward, and so much fun!

I hope you enjoyed this cookie project, and consider joining Tunde’s club, to access not only her tutorials but her private Facebook group, a very friendly and welcoming virtual spot for cookie decorators of all levels.
