I am totally in love with this set of cookies, designed by Amber Spiegel. Full tutorial, including templates for Royal icing transfers available in her cookie club (click here to join and gain access to this and countless other tutorials).

These cookies rely on Royal icing transfers that must be make in advance, anywhere from one day to one year before decorating them. Yes, Royal icing transfer last pretty much forever, that’s their beauty and their power. Once you make them, you are very close to the finish line. Just flood the cookies (I used two different frame shapes), add the transfers, let the whole thing set together. Pipe a bead border using light brown icing, and then paint that with bronze (or gold) luster powder with vodka. You are done!

Interestingly enough, I own a swimming suit with a leopard print, so these cookies are very dear to my heart… Now I only need the hat and the flip-flops, but at least I do have them in cookie shape.

The basic transfers can be made in other color combinations and motifs, like polka dots, stripes, flowers… so many possibilities, so much fun!

Was between two lectures when this just dropped in – may I laugh rather loudly! What a wonderful collection . . . now you just have to buy such a hat and thongs as well since you already have the suit . . . and hand them out whilst in costume 🙂 ! Well- that is what we call them Down Under !!!
