I fell in love with this concept back in November, when I was starting to plan all the Christmas cookies. I’ve had the cutter for quite some time, but it was patiently waiting for me, hidden in a drawer in the basement. Once I brought it out to play, I was hooked. You can use the shape in all cookie seasons, just change the center image and let your imagination go wild.

For these designs, I actually followed a tutorial by Tunde from years ago, although she did not really do the postal stamp vibe. But she taught how to pipe the snowman all in white icing, then using food colors for painting. Steps shown below.

It really amazed me how simple it was to just pipe the whole thing in stages. No need for a projector, nothing. Just pipe the basic shapes one on top of the other, let it dry and paint. I was in Cookie Decorating Nirvana!

The first design I made using the Postal Stamp as a little Christmas tree. I just outlined the overall shape and piped the tree with thick consistency Royal icing and a star shape tip (#18).

Another design I made recently involved penguins and a snowman…

.

The snowman was piped free hand. For the penguins, I made Royal icing transfers in advance.

I hope I convinced you that the Postal Stamp is a cookie cutter you should get to play with. No matter the holiday, there is always the right stamp waiting for you!

Those would be so much fun to serve at a card-addressing party! (Do people still even do that?)
