Gratitude to Tunde Dugantsi for a wonderful tutorial…

Many techniques were used in the making of the platter, including fine line piping with some level of detail required. Tunde demonstrates it all in her video, so if you take your time, it is not too complicated. You can cut the cookie shapes by hand or get the set of three cutters available in her site (click here for her club where you can find it all).
It all starts by baking all the components. I used a gingerbread dough.

Then each piece is iced with either black or ivory icing.

Details are piped or added with stencils…. Because they will all be painted with gold, it is better to start with a yellow color of icing.
