We have an amazing population of tree frogs and other Batrachians where we live. They make a lot of noise, and sometimes like to hide in our mailbox, giving me a little adrenaline release every once in a while. They are super cute, though. Recently I fell in love with a design demonstrated by Amber, and could not stop making them.

The basis for this design is the Royal icing transfer, in frog shape. Amber provides the template and all the detailed instructions in her site (join here).

My first series was ok, but I found that the blue color I used for the frog got a bit lost in the background, not enough contrast.

So I changed things around, made a new series with a brighter yellow color…

Next I went on a little frog expedition of my own, and made a set with a jumping frog and lily pads.

I am quite smitten by the jumping frog. I got the basic drawing from Pinterest and used Royal icing to pipe it. Here is a little video of the process, in real time.
I love the goofy nature of this little guy!

I hope you enjoyed this little series, and huge thank you to Amber for yet another amazing design!
