Once again, Tunde Dugantsi made me stretch the boundaries of my comfort zone… I am thrilled with the outcome but will have to place these cookies in the advanced level. So many techniques, so much detail! I learned a lot and struggled at times, but here are my babies, pure labor of love…

The process starts by making Royal icing transfers, succulents of many shapes and colors.

Many icing tips were needed, I even had to order a new one, #74 that has a nice star shape with a flat side. I made all those early on a Saturday so they were ready to be used by mid afternoon. Next, a border was piped and later painted with luster powder + vodka. I used a mixture of Almond and Gold.

Once that is all done, you can start placing the decorations on the cookie, and glueing them with icing.

The final step is adding little dots of icing all over the surface to mimic pebbles. I used two different tones of icing, light pink and beige.

I am totally smitten by this project, which was not easy but I am so glad I embraced the challenge…
