I admit that this play of words with bee is definitely over-used, but could not skip it. Today, I show you a small series of cookies of my own design, although it is impossible to avoid being influenced by things seen around Pinterest and Instagram.

On Mondays, I donate a box of cookies to Accord Hospice, a wonderful organization from our town. Since it is a single box going to one particular spot, I like to keep all cookies tied together with the same theme or color. What definitely pops up about this particular set is the use of Royal icing bees to decorate most of them. I made two different sizes of bees and they all found their way onto cookies.

The small ones went into a composite of hexagons that were very simple to decorate: just flooded with icing and a light air-brushing with a honey comb stencil.

To add some variety, the central cookie can be replaced by a different design, in this case using a bee stencil and black air-brushing.

To complement the hexagons, I added honey pots and beehives, that took the larger bee.

The last design, also using the larger bee, was a simple rectangle, to act like a framed picture. Pretty simple, but I liked it a lot… I hope I convinced you that Royal icing transfers are an amazing way to decorate cookies, they elevate almost any design to make it more fun and interesting.

That’s all for now, friends! Remember to always be a happy bee!
