To celebrate, I share a very special cookie set I made for dear friends. As you may know, my cookie decorating involves almost exclusively donations. That means I can do whatever I want, there is essentially zero pressure. However, every once in a while I get a special request and that changes everything. I spend a lot of time and energy trying to do the very best I can. In this case, the cookies went for a pre-wedding party, a little get together just for the bride, groom, the bridesmaids and groomsmen. I had total freedom to choose the design, was just shown a picture of the decoration of the party. It involved beautiful coral roses.

I am really happy with the way they turned out, although I confess there was a lot of hyperventilation, self-doubt, and palpitation. But that’s the way I roll, I guess.

For the bride and groom larger cookies, I used cookie cutters from a store in Canada I really love (click here).

The dress was piped first, I let that set overnight and added the details with a stencil, medium consistency white icing, and a spray with Diamond dust for bling. The rest of the cookie was iced later, then all the details. Roses for all cookies were Royal icing transfers. I made a lot so I could choose the best ones.

THE BRIDESMAIDS SET

The decoration started by brushing a very little layer of peach tone icing for the skin area.

Once that was set, I flooded the dress region, and added all the details with piping consistency.

THE GROOMSMEN SET

Just a few fine lines were needed to make the suit shape work in the heart format. I opted for a coral tie to harmonize with the roses.

The color is dark gray, instead of super black, trying to minimize the “black tongue” syndrome after consuming dark icing. Let’s hope I succeeded!

Thank you for being part of my Cookie Decorating Journey, I invite you to step with me into the 5th year of this sweet adventure…
