I’ve been donating cookies to Accord Hospice, a great organization in our town. On February 17th, they celebrated Random Acts of Kindness, and I was thrilled to contribute with cookies for the occasion. One of the designs was definitely my favorite of recent projects.

Friendship bracelet cookies seemed quite fitting to carry the message of kindness. I was inspired by Haniela in a tutorial she did last year (check it out here).

I must tell you this was a labor of love. All the decorations were made from Royal icing transfers, piped one by one. The beads and the flat discs for the letters. Haniela demonstrates is clearly on the video I linked above, but essentially you pipe little blobs of white icing and flatten them pressing with a little square of parchment paper. Once the icing dries, the paper is lifted and you will have flat discs to write with a food safe pen. Some of the steps are shown below.

The beads are different colors of Royal icing…

Once the letters were glued in place, I used piping consistency black icing to make the string and immediately added the little beads. Yes, a bit time-consuming, but I think totally worth it!

And the other two designs I made for them were based on their logo.
