These lovely cookies were designed by Marlyn 4 years ago, but you can still watch her tutorial on youtube with all the detailed instructions to make them happen in your own kitchen. I opted for bolder colors, but make sure to watch her original version, in which pastel tones rule. Click here for the tutorial.

So many details in these cookies! Some of the steps are shown below. First draw a line to guide the piping of the background in three separate sections. The middle section will be later brushed with a super thin layer of white icing, that will give it a translucent feel, mimicking lace.

The flowers are all piped with thick consistency icing, using a star and a petal tip. For the leaves, use a small leaf icing tip. You can change the colors of the flowers or the background, and of course, once Easter is over, you can use a frame shape to create a similar design. Super stylish and elegant, I think…

I love this technique to add a translucent look to the surface of the cookie, and intend to incorporate it in future designs. It is very easy, just make sure your coating is super thin and apply it gently with a soft brush over fully set icing.
