FLIRTING WITH FINE LINES

Here I am once again, to share my attempts at getting better with the fine line piping… I chose teardrop shape and chocolate-chipotle chocolate, flooded with teal color and went to work.

The three cookies at the bottom were made fully free-hand. The two on top relied on a little stencil image before piping, as you see below.

It is definitely helpful to have a draft image to follow as you pipe, so I recommend doing that instead of piping without guidance.

.

For the following adventure, I chose a pastel color (very small amount of Sugarflair PAPRIKA color), and then used a mini-projector to draw the image on the paisley shaped cookie.

You might notice that I had two different types of lines, the first had slightly thinner consistency and slightly bigger opening in the bag. Then I made a few trying to get the lines to be fine and sharper.

It is the type of design that can be embellished with more fine lines, but of course that requires… a bit more practice! A little spray with PME pearl is always welcome…

I intend to keep practicing, including a few cookies that require fine line work on my weekend projects, hopefully one day I get to level #3 of Megan’s class!
