Some of my own design, some following great cookie artists out there…

It is definitely time for red white and blue! Starting with a design of my own…
THE PATRIOTIC HEART

Super simple to decorate, the only thing to keep in mind is to do it in stages, all the white stripes first, then the red, so they retain their individuality and you get a bit of a puffy lift. I also wanted to have rounded edges. Once that sets, the blue part is iced.

A little sprinkle star wraps up the design….

PATRIOTIC BUNTING COOKIES

This is a simple but super cool set of cookies that I saw on semisweet designs, and joins Royal icing with air-brushing. In that website you will get detailed instructions on how to do it. I made another version with the dark blue outside and it also looks pretty nice.
GOLDEN STAR PATRIOTIC COOKIES

This design was inspired by a very recent tutorial shared by Amber in her Cookie Club (click here). Her version had the star as white and red stripes, I just simplified a bit and added some bling.
THE OLD FLAG COOKIE

The flag was my own design, I love the old look given by a little spray with Amerimist Taupe air-brush color. The cookie is a simple rectangle, with a cutout star. Steps to make the Golden Star and the Flag Cookies are shown below.

The light spray with Taupe on the edges really pleased me,
it gives this aged look I find quite nice for the flag…

THE PATRIOTIC BUTTERFLY

Another simple design. Pipe the white portion, allow it to set overnight or at leas 6 hours. Add the stripes with stencil. Flood the other side with blue, and add white dots with white icing. The body was piping consistency white icing and sanding sugar, shaping it with a brush to get a curved shape.

That is all for now, folks! Enjoy your 4th of July festivities, and please be mindful of those who are affected by fireworks, pets and Veterans come to mind…
