Marlyn kept it simple. Short and sweet. Make cookies to take to a party…
So. Many. Possibilities. Here are my choices…

I think roses with a white and golden motif are elegant and festive. I used a cookie cutter I bought from etsy a year ago, but it is not available anymore. I found a very similar on amazon (click here). The same design also looks good in other colors, like coral… In this case I also did a little shading with gel color diluted with vodka.

The key to these cookies is to pipe one section at a time, and work slowly. For the white cookies, I also added a small line of piping consistency icing to avoid cratering, and that helped a lot. It is just one small added step but worth it.

With the same party atmosphere in mind, I think the large heart cookie would be nice in a platter with the roses. For that look, I flooded the cookie with pink icing, next day I piped the design with white icing and then covered the area with super diluted icing and a small brush. This design was inspired by Juanita Dulce (check her IG page here).

So that’s my homework for July!
