Before the month of June is over, four little bakes to celebrate inclusion, acceptance and all things love.

PRIDE HEART COOKIES

This cool design was recently shared by Amber from @sweetambs. My colors were more in the direction of “neon” rather than pastel, and I opted to finish them with gold. Because… well, you know me. Below, you’ll see the basic steps. Flood with white, paint with diluted gel colors, then pipe the details to be painted with gold later.

PRIDE FLOWERS

This was my own design, simple to put together, just requires quite a few colors to be mixed. I started with the center, using purple and non-pareils, allowing that to set for a little bit and then adding each petal with a different color. Just to make sure they don’t stick together, do petals that are non-adjacent. The process is shown below.

PRIDE MACARONS, VERSION #1

To make this design, prepare your favorite macaron batter (I used the French method as described here), and separate in 3 portions. Dye each one pink, orange and yellow. Pipe shells starting with pink, add a center of orange and then yellow. They will naturally form concentric circles. A little flower in the center is optional. You can use Royal icing to glue them to the shells.

PRIDE MACARONS, VERSION #2

These macarons were featured in my main blog last year, so you can read all about them here. They were filled with raspberry jam and lemon buttercream.

I hope you enjoyed this small collection of Pride Bakes… I loved making them all, but maybe my heart is set on a certain heart…
