For a change of pace, these are all my own design, no tutorial, no online class. I just played with my favorite blue, Wedgwood (also ok to spell it Wedgewood, in case you are wondering). Used marbling and air-brushing, finalized some with fondant roses. My starting point was to make a round cookie with a little circle impression created with a smaller cookie cutter, gently pressed on the cookie dough before baking. That helps a lot piping the circle later.

You could use other colors and different decoration in the center: hearts, stars, butterflies. But of course, a rose always looks so stylish!

The heart-shaped cookie relied exclusively on marbling and a smaller heart also imprinted with a cookie cutter in the center. Instead of piping icing in the smaller heart, I used blue luster powder with vodka to paint the naked cookie in that area. I love the way it gives dimension to the design around it.

Finally, the large oval was made by flooding the center first, air-brushing a grid pattern, and then adding the fondant piece and the flooding around it.

Yet another design that will accommodate many different colors and central motifs. I predict Valentine’s vibes shaping up in the future….
