Today I share another cookie adventure that totally stole my heart. Tunde outdid herself in this tridimensional composition inspired by the season. Her tutorial and the set of cookie cutters are available in her site, which you can visit clicking here.

I am thrilled with the outcome! Love every single one of the fruits and veggies, but I must admit the corn cob made my heart sing… Just adorable, and so realistic!

The project is a bit unusual because every single cookie is iced and/or piped with the exact same background color, a light beige. That will make the painting a little more mellow than if you used white icing. Pretty clever idea. For painting, I used three different products: Sugarprism (for the corn, apples, pears and red pumpkins), regular food gel diluted with water (for the light green pumpkin, leaves, vines and the grapes), and copper luster powder (for the wheels and stems).

The only piece left without any icing was the bottom of the little cart, since it isn’t visible when assembled. I made a total of 18 little cookies, but I could only comfortably fit in the cart 15 of those. Keep that in mind if you plan to make this set and not have leftover small cookies. Assembling the cart was trouble-free, as it is a small piece. I used thick Royal icing as a glue, dyed light brown.

The top and outer edges of the cart components as well as the wheels were painted with copper luster powder + vodka.

It is a real nice centerpiece, and as Tunde suggested, it would be perfect for a Thanksgiving celebration.

.

I hope this post inspires you to get some cookies decorated for Thanksgiving…

Sally – these really are a playful delight people must have been utterly delighted to receive – how can you bite into such 🙂 ? May I add those grapes to the load I have already asked from you 🙂 ? I can’t believe how different they all are . . . how long they must take to complete . . .

I don’t keep track of the time, but because everything gets spread over a couple of days, it is not that bad at all – plus, when I paint I pick one color and use them in all cookies that use that one – that makes it all a lot more efficient –
