It is obviously that time of the year, so let me show you some of the designs I’ve played with recently. Most rely on Royal icing transfers, they are a great way to decorate cookies. You make them, and they sit and wait for you.

Make pumpkin transfers.

Flood cookies and place pumpkins on the wet surface. Allow to set.

Pipe a bead border all around.

Flood the cookie with ivory color. Immediately add sets of two straight lines and a little dot at the ends (check video for details, clicking here).

Place pumpkin in the center.

Cookie cutter from semisweetdesigns.

Some steps shown below…

The lantern makes a nice set with pumpkins…

.

Flood the central area, let it set.

Use a stencil to air-brush the pattern using Laurel green.

Flood the other areas and add fine lines for the details

Glue the pumpkin in the center.

Sally – I am just hoping from the bottom of my heart that the time will come when you will publish all of this in a book form for all of us to permanently enjoy – I’ll have the latte cups today, two, please !

You are the sweetest… right now I am not even sure the cookie blog has much of a future, I am going to take it to the five year mark and re-evaluate maybe…. and the idea of a little book would be nice but at the same time problematic – most of the cookies I make are designs from the great cookie artists that inspire and teach me, so it would involve a ton of copyright issues! but I appreciate your love for my cookies, very very much so!
