One more set of cookies that celebrate the upcoming New Year. If you have some experience in cookie decorating, I highly recommend that you stop by this store at etsy and browse through the tutorials they offer. You won’t have a video tutorial but the instructions are clear and detailed. If you are brand new to this hobby, their tutorials might be a bit intimidating. Without further ado, here are my babies…

The great thing about this type of tutorial is they are super affordable. For less than 10 bucks you get to download a full guide with recipes, color and consistency guides, templates to cut the cookies by hand (which I did) and the details. The most complex cookie of the set was the one below, that truly took time and effort.

After flooding with ivory and letting it fully set you can use a projector or any other trick you figure out to transfer the complex design to the surface and start the piping in stages.

All other cookies were easier to make but required piping in stages and quite a bit of fine line work.

I had a few issues here and there, my cookies were not flawless like the ones in their book, but I know that just a couple of years ago I simply could not think about making this set. So, there’s that. Progress!

I hope you enjoyed this set, I think this will be it for the Lunar New Year, although the snake motif is so cool, I feel like trying a few more in the future.
