The tutorial to make this platter was published very recently by Tunde in her Cookie Club (click here to join). Her goal was to come up with a set that wouldn’t be too time consuming to make, as everybody is so busy in the holiday season. It proves that you don’t need complicated techniques to come up with a beautiful platter of cookies…

The cookie cutter set is available here, but you can also improvise using shapes you already own. I do not divulge details of decorating from paid classes, so let me just share a few of the progress photos.

The feathers are made with wet-on-wet technique…

And the body also doesn’t require advanced techniques. It all comes together quickly…

This is a perfect set of cookies for the Thanksgiving table… You can add more feathers if you have a large crowd of people joining you, or keep it even simpler, just Mr. Turkey and five feathers around it.
