Not sure why this verb does not exist. Pumpking = to make all things pumpkin in cookie shape. Or any art shape, why not? This is a small collection of pumpkin-inspired cookies I’ve made in the past month or so. Just a little summary of how each was made after the picture. In a more or less chronological order of their appearance in my kitchen.
POLKA DOTS

Flood in orange adding white dots wet-on-wet. Flood the stem with brown. Let it set. Add fine lines in orange for outlines, and later greenery with leaf tip.
.
SLEEPY HEADS

Flood with orange in sections. Add brown stem. Let it set. Pipe features with black icing.
.
BLACK AND WHITE

Flood in sections with white and black. Let it set. Add details with white icing. Let it set. Paint with gold or copper luster dust + vodka.
.
FUNNY FACES

Make royal icing transfers for the eyes in bright colors. Flood pumpkin with white or orange. Add eyes while icing is wet. Make stem in contrasting color and white dots. Let it all set. Add features with piping consistency black and red.
SIMPLE TEXTURE

Ice in sections with orange. Add stem. Let icing set for about 30 minutes, then add texture with a fondant baller or the handle of a brush. Optional step: add some paint on edges and crevices.
THE CHEETAH PUMPKIN

Flood in sections using white, add details wet-on-wet with two shades of brown. Add stem.
WHITE AND GOLD

Flood in sections with white. Let it set. Add details in white, including fondant piece. Let it set, paint with luster gold + vodka.
CLASSIC

Super simple set, but quite effective, using a special cutter that makes the different sections very evident (similar to this one). Flood the areas to be decorated with sanding sugar first. Coat them with orange sugar. Flood all other areas, adding sprinkles if so desired. Let it all set.
KNITTED DETAILS

Flood in sections, let it set. Add details as fine lines and knitted details. A few little dots in some spots, if you like.
This wraps up the pumpkin show for now, although I will probably re-visit this issue as Fall moves along. I do have a few cookie shapes left to play with… So many cookies, so little time!
