One more online tutorial wrapped up, another wonderful class by Tunde Dugantsi, join her club clicking here, and come have some major learning fun. This class involved making tridimensional roses with thick Royal icing and using it to decorate whimsical cookies in different shapes. I am totally in love!

I consider this an intermediate to advanced level class, as there are quite a few techniques involved, including piping a grid with fine lines by hand. But as is always the case, Tunde guides flawlessly and you’ll get there!

I had issues with the heart grid, when filling the spaces because the consistency of my icing was slightly thick, but other than that everything went smoothly….
From cutting the cookie shapes…

To flooding them…

Making the Royal icing transfers (a lot of fun work!)

And finally putting it all together!

She taught how to make several styles of roses, including some shaped around toothpicks, but I failed at those. Need to try again in the future. I made them all over parchment paper.
These are really special cookies that would embellish an engagement party, a wedding, a Birthday…

I had a very nice Saturday morning, taking my time and enjoying the path…

Hard to pick a favorite of this set, but I would have to go with this one!

Tunde, you did it again, a mesmerizing set of cookies, I always learn so much with your tutorials, now my goal is to master those incredible toothpick roses… Stay tuned!
