I am in love with these, and find that pastel colors work super well with the designs…

They are very simple to decorate, you do need a special set of stencils, I got mine at Evil Cake Genius (click here for ordering info).

Pastel colors are not easy to do with Royal icing, but my favorite way to achieve them is using this set from Colour Mill. I used a little bit of a heavy hand with the lavender, but other than that, no issues. Simply ice the cookie, let it set completely, preferably wait 12 hours. Then go with medium-thick consistency white icing to spread the design over the surface.

I went with simple white for the stencil, but I can see many possibilities of color combinations in the future…
