I am officially on a Royal Icing Transfer Roll, and… loving it! This time I did not follow any tutorial, just got some basic drawings of birds and transformed them into sugar creatures to move permanently into flooded cookies. I am so happy with the outcome!

As usual, this type of project starts by making the Royal icing transfers at least one day in advance.

Choose nice, bright colors, and then flood any shape of cookie you like with a contrasting (or similar) color. It all works in the end.

For the modern birdies, it is super simple, I used Royal icing drop flowers I had from a past adventure, and added simple details.

But the ones with the little bird transfers got a little extra make-up step by shading, you can see the process in this short video below.
It is a very calming activity, especially because I don’t make dozens of cookies, just a few, so it never gets too repetitive or boring. It could be a different story if I was selling 36 cookies with little birds on them…

I think that the four below are my favorites of this set….

I hope you enjoyed this post, and be ready for many more Royal icing transfers in the future!
