Apparently I just cannot stop making spring-themed cookies, and Tunde made it even harder to control my obsession when she shared this tutorial in her club (join here).

This is not a difficult project and will please those who prefer a cookie with less icing. I opted for a lemon-flavored cookie dough for this project. Below you can see some of the steps in the process. My central cookie was smaller than the one Tunde recommended, so I ended up with 11 cookies around it instead of 12. Twelve would be better to have the different designs divided harmoniously.

I made some boo-boos, some of the flowers should have been piped bigger, but I think I was too concerned with nailing the piping of the petals and did not pay attention to the bigger picture. Literally…. No major harm done, but something to keep in mind if you want to make a similar platter. Below my favorite design of the series, the simplicity of these roses stole my heart. I will definitely be incorporating this technique in other cookies. Stay tuned!

I had some leftover Royal icing and a few iced cookies waiting for some inspiration, so I decided to practice some of the flowers again. I had no idea where I was going, but I like the way they turned out….

I hope Spring is inspiring your baking and cookie decorating also…

So glad your love of making cookies is allowing us to experience such fun pretend sessions of holding one (or better two or even three) of such in our hands wondering whether we really dare to take a bite 🙂 !
