This set of cookies joins a Springtime vibe with a touch of Oriental flair. I envisioned them going well together but confess that they turned out better than I expected. I love them.

.

For this design I opted to flood with a pink icing, then used dry powder to add dimension to the petals. Process shown below. The palette I love is available here, and it works amazingly well on all sorts of shapes.

.

Not my idea, I saw similar cookies on Pinterest and figured out my own way of doing it. Flooded with red, let it set overnight. Added the golden design with air-brush and stencil. Piped all the details with Royal icing and painted with gold luster + vodka.

The swirl around the cookie is what makes it so special, in my opinion. I saw it on a Facebook reel, it went by really fast but I managed to reproduce it. Here is my – much slower – video so you can also do it.

This swirl can be part of countless designs, changing the color and maybe even adding it as some type of horizontal band on a heart or hexagon shape. Very easy to do, and so effective, right?
