Another big marathon in the cookie universe, once again courtesy of Tunde Dugantsi, who pushes my limits all the time. No, I am not complaining, I actually love that! Seven hexagon cookies, all decorated by the Lambeth method, which is intricate, elegant and absolutely fascinating to work with. Read about it here.

It is amazing to think that preparation for the work is not that complicated. You will need – after the cookies are flooded and set – only three colors of icing, in a single, medium-thick consistency. A few different piping tips. That is it.

One of my favorite cookies involved a nice wavy border that I will definitely be using in other designs in the future. It takes a bit of practice, but once you get the movement going, it is very rewarding.

I don’t know how long it took me to decorate the set of seven hexagons, but I was totally absorbed in the process and enjoyed each minute of it. I made a few boo-boos, mainly for difficulties with spacing things correctly but the cookies have such a busy design that some imperfections do not harm them that much. Or so I hope.

I find it hard to pick a favorite, so I will show you them all in a couple of composite picture and you can choose yours…

.

Maybe my heart goes from #2 to #4 and then also to #6, but they all make me very happy, so once again I say thank you to Tunde for providing such amazing online classes on a monthly basis. All of this being totally beyond my skills I can but admire and pick numbers four and six, purely for personal aesthetic reasons 🙂 ! How do Prince and Star behave when you are doing such intricate work? Trying to get you to finish to have a walk and a play 🙂 ?
