I should not complain, so far winter has been mild, total opposite from last year. Let’s not even talk too much about it, I don’t want to jinx it. Today I share a series of cookies that focus on a beautiful blue color, similar to the sky in Kansas on a bright sunny day.

I love their playful look… These are very simple, I did not use Royal icing transfers, just piped the body of the snowman with white icing, allow it to set and added the details. Very straightforward. The trees were also piped without templates or anything. Once the trunks set, a fine pen added the details to give them the look of white birch. Some steps shown below…
Start by deciding where the sky and the snowy ground will be, then once that background is set – maybe a couple of hours later – you can add the trees and snowmen.

Don’t forget to add a few snowballs here and there… And a big smile to the naughty guy…

For the ones showing the snowman in the center, leave some area on the top free to write Let it Snow…

Just a few more details with piping consistency icing, and you are done!

You can also make a much simpler design piping a simple tree…

To bring the turquoise component to center stage, some snowflakes… These were made with stencil and thick royal icing to apply the pattern…

And finally, these were just piped over white iced cookies…

There is a lot of winter left in Kansas, so be ready for more cookies with the theme in mind…
