For the Cherry version, I improvised with a simplified method, covering the cookie with a layer of thick icing, then adding the pie lattice and dots of icing for the fruit.

Once the lattice was fully dry, I painted with bronze luster powder to mimic the browning the oven.

I love these cookies because they are so unusual and fun. Not very hard to bring to life, if you take your time and pay attention to the consistency of your icing.
