Once again, I fell in love with this design the moment I watched Haniela decorating them on a live Wednesday session, through her youtube channel (click here to watch the tutorial, for free).

She provided templates for the Royal icing transfer as well as the overall shape of the oval, and the swirls around the frame. I would not call this project beginner-friendly because piping the silhouette is a bit tricky, especially getting the lips correctly, which I did not quite achieve in all of them. But even without reaching perfection, the whole things works well, and I am thrilled with my babies!

You start by flooding the base, then once that sets, pipe an oval area for the marbled center. Wet-on-wet and a little spatula give the marbled effect. Immediately place the Royal icing transfer on top. Pipe decorative swirls and later paint them with luster gold + vodka.

This basic idea will be great for so many designs: butterflies, flowers, a little cat, a Halloween bat in the center, and colors to match the mood accordingly. Stay tuned, because I definitely want to play with this soon, very soon!
Huge thank you to Haniela for providing her followers with so many great decorating ideas…
