No particular technique, shape, or color links these cookies together. But in my mind, they all scream cute. I hope you feel the same way…

GOING PLACES

The inspiration for these cookies came from some simple drawings I saw on Pinterest. I adapted those to Royal icing, working with different consistencies to get texture or lift. Apart from a slight cratering on the wings of the dragonflies, I am super happy with them.
Some of the steps are shown below, just piping section by section, the drawing is very simple, no need for a projector or anything fancy…. and once it all sets, add the fine line details with black Royal icing.

SUMMERTIME

The cookie cutters for this set are from flourbox.com (click here). Very simple decoration, wet on wet and a tiny bit of fine line piping. For the bikini, contrasting colors make it particularly cute. And so does a little smiling face on the sun!

BACK TO SCHOOL PENCILS

Maybe a little early to think of going back to school, but they fit the cute category, so here they are. I fell in love with this design when I saw IG page from Qwerts Cookies, which I recommend you follow, if cookie decorating is one of your passions (click here).

THREE COOL CHICKS

Aren’t those the definition of cute? And goofy, and lovable? I’v had these cookie cutters for a long time and honestly have no idea where I got them. Probably the most involved decorating project of this post, but not that bad. Flood the white and the black parts, let it set. Add the details in orange, red, and the big, bulgy eyes with thick icing. The details on the white part of the body were made with a fine tip black pen. the details on the black part were white Royal icing, added after the black background set, so there was a bit of lift. I just adore them!
