It’s been awhile since I shared an online class taught by Amy. She’s been through a lot lately and I was glad to see her back teaching online. This is a very beautiful cookie set, perfect for spring. I learned several techniques that will definitely come in handy in the future when I make my own cookies. Without further ado, take a look at the group of five cookies made this past weekend.

It all started by baking the cookies and gathering all the materials to join the online event. Several people watched the class as a zoom meeting but only two of us decorated in real time with Amy. That was quite an adventure! I’m so glad I did it.

You can see a bag with jelly beans that I intended to use in place of eggs in one of the cookies but when I did that, the size was just not right. I ended up adding small Easter chocolate eggs I had left in my pantry. As usual I do not share all the details from a paid online event so the picture below shows some of the steps involved. All in all it took us about three full hours decorating to bring the set to life. It was awesome!

Decorating in real time as the instructor makes the cookies can be a little stressful but I love the challenge. One of the things that is a little hard is to get the full picture of the cookie as it is being made. Now that I have made the set, if I was to make it again I would choose a slightly different shade of green for the background of the nest and the wreath. Other than that, no issues.
The two below might be my favorites…

But then again, I am in love with these two also…
