This is a new technique for me. You use a stencil to add medium consistency Royal icing over the flooded and fully set cookie. Let that dry for a couple of hours, then either pipe details with icing or go for a simpler route, painting the design with Sugarprism, luster powder, or even food safe pens. I love the way they turn out…

Starting with the most complex… The stencil I used can be found on amazon (click here).

For this one, after the stencil sets, I used different colors of piping consistency icing to add small details to each section. Some steps shown below.

Moving on, a simpler design using one of my favorite shapes, the hexagon…

For this cookie, I opted to paint using Sugarprism, super vibrant colors, and a nice vanilla taste…

And finally, perhaps my favorite, painting with luster powder over a bright turquoise background…

It is already quite nice if you leave it white, or maybe spread a different color of icing, maybe darker blue…

But, obviously I cannot resist a little color and bling…

As you can imagine, the possibilities are endless to decorate with this method. I hope you try it and have a great time with it!
