This won’t be my last post on the subject, love will go on here for a while, trust me… But today I share a set of cookies made after a recent tutorial from Tunde Dugantsi. Once again, let me share her site info (click here) so that you can join if you want to learn a lot about decorating cookies with her usual elegant flair.

She made those cookies in black and red, I decided just to change things a bit and opted for coral and gray. The whole set had more cookies but the three above were my favorites. I made a few little boo-boos on the other ones, and feel they need a bit of tweaking. But in case you want to see the whole family, here they are!

I consider this a medium to advanced project as fine line piping will be a must. Some of the prep steps are shown below.

I am a lot more comfortable piping grids, but still need to optimize the consistency of the icing for filling the pattern into the little squares. I will get there at some point, but wow, not that easy… I loved the combination of coral and gray, will try to incorporate it in other designs in the future.

I hope you have a nice Valentine’s celebration, if that is your sort of thing. Ours will be low-key but exactly the way we like it: cooking dinner together and enjoying a cozy evening at home…
