A real masterpiece designed and taught by Tunde Dugantsi. I am very grateful for this tutorial, because the ruffled edge was something I asked her to figure out how to make and then teach us. And that’s exactly what she did. The effect of lace around the cookie was so cool to make and not that hard, actually. Her instructions are absolutely spot on! Join her club with a click here.

This tutorial opened the year and I could not wait to try it. It involved two large cookies, a 6 inch oval and a 5.5 inch square. I went with gingerbread for this project. Below a few steps of the process, it seems complicated but when you see Tunde demonstrating it, you will have no issues. A large cookie is easier to try this technique for the first time. I hope to be able to use it in the future for other designs.

I am so in love with these cookies! Piping the winter scene was a challenge, as she does it free-hand, so I took a deep breath and went to work, trying to do my best. These cookies would go very well as centerpieces for a winter composition. Some of the snowflakes are also designed by Tunde, and a tutorial is available in her blog for free (click here).

Not sure which one is my favorite, the square or the oval. I think I won’t put pressure on myself to pick one…
