Today I share a collection of Christmas ornaments in cookie format, but I will start with a design I am beyond excited about! I was watching some reels on Instagram and some professional cookie artists shared cookies made by wet-on-wet but using a method I had never seen before. Just like dots are often used to form hearts pulling through the center with a needle, you can do a lot of interesting compositions pulling straight lines. And I confess, I am a little obsessed…. ( are you surprised?)

To make this design, you start making two circles in the center with a contrasting color. Then pull 8 times outward with the needle. Add a series of two straight lines in the spaces formed by the design. Then pull them inward with the needle. Add decorative dots, and you are done! Pure Zen! See below the steps. Disregard de mess on the paper, that’s the way Sally rolls!

.

A similar design, perhaps a little simpler can be made starting with straight lines from the beginning…

.
You can see the steps below, once again start from the center and get parallel lines going all around, pulling them exclusively inwards in this case.

You can also mix two colors for added complexity…

MOVING ON WITH THE ORNAMENT PARTY
Below, some are flooded in white and a circle of straight lines in two tones of green is pulled into a circle with the needle. That is a design that is used a lot in all sorts of cookie compositions and I have done in the past many times. I never get tired of it. The red one is super simple. Flood, allow it to set, and add a bunch of fine lines, then shower them with sanding sugar.

.
The Galaxy! I made that one up, I can only hope the sprinkles were not too hard to bite into… Just make a swirl with icing, cover with sprinkles, then flood the entire cookie to cover it smoothly.

.
The skinny ornament, I love this shape. Apart from a bit of fine line to decorate after flooding, it is a simple design, which I got inspiration from on Instagram.

.
The simplest cookie of this series, a celebration of blue. All you need is a little wafer paper cut in the shape of your choice to decorate the center. Add it while the icing is still wet, so it curves the paper nicely.

Finally, the yin and yang of the series… As you know, I am quite fond of this type of design. Super simple, flood both colors, allow to set and add the white dots.
