Winter is coming… time to build snowmen, and the best way for a Brazilian to do such a thing is from the comfort of her kitchen. These were inspired by cookies I saw on Instagram, I made my own changing a few details here and there. I love flip-flopping a cookie, and this design starting from a large heart shape stole my own heart…

These are simple to decorate, basically pick a contrasting color for the hat in the mini-cookies, and use a light blue for the heart to mimic the sky. The sky portion gets some details in white with wet-on-wet icing. Once the sections are flooded the eyes are added (PME pearls), and once the base is set, he other details are piped. Steps are shown below.

You can use fondant decorations for the hats if you prefer, and go wild with the colors for the scarf in the larger cookie.

The only icing that needs to be thicker is the orange one used for the nose, because a little texture as you pipe makes it more realistic (that is, carrot-like).

So many designs are possible with just the snowman basic idea, I hope I have enough time before winter is over to try them all…
