This design is courtesy of the one and only Marlyn, from @montrealconfections. She shared them on her Facebook page and I wondered if she had a full tutorial to make them, but then decided to be super daring and make them on my own. I am totally in love with my little kitten babies (don’t tell our pups).

I confess it was a lot of fun to try and figure out the steps to make them and the pattern for the mittens. I slightly modified her version by omitting the little paws (full disclosure, I forgot to bake small circles for that purpose), and by increasing the size of the cat component, so that I could include the little mouth. Other than that, I think I followed it closely. This is an example of a Frankenstein cookie, in which two shapes are used to join two cookies together. Some of the steps are shown below…

Following tutorials is the best way to learn, but there’s something nice about rolling your sleeves and trying to figure things out and make them happen. Once again, I thank Marlyn for the endless source of inspiration.
