ZENTANGLE FUN AND BONUS VIDEOS

You know that I cannot go for too long without indulging in some serious zentangle-cookie’ing. This small collection joins several styles that I’ve played with in the past couple of months, some were actually made back in April. I also made a couple of videos to show how the pattern is created, step by step.

For two of those patterns I made a little video for you… The first one starts with dots or open small circles equally spaced. No need to be too precise, although you can also start from a stencil if you like it to be perfectly symmetrical.

The second one starts with straight lines, in a random pattern. Anything works, just fill the spaces in between them with curved shapes like you see in the video below.

I am also quite fond of this art-deco design that looks great in many colors….

I did not make a video of this one, but you can see how simple it is to make in the composite below…

Still another design also quite simple to put together…

Below the steps involved… Disregard the difference in color, I drew on the cookies late at night but only took a picture of the finished design next day with better natural light.

As I mentioned before, the first design can be coached into a more uniform pattern using a stencil to air brush the dots…. I don’t have a stencil with tiny holes, so the end result is a little more dramatic…

Some simple rounds of black on gold…

And to close this series, a few Zentangle-inspired florals!
